Judgement by MSD-haters reminds me of the appraisal feedback by some stereotypical corporate managers, who couldn't secure a spot in the technical bandwagon and fell off to the other side.
A multi-talented person like MSD, (in every field we have MSDs) can't be judged with the single dimension scale that you have. It will always be a partial and biased view. Such genius DNA comes as a package, it influences different streams and people around .
It is totally OK if you can't follow, because there are so many things in this universe that is beyond reach for any human.
Fastest runner, Captain Cool, lightening stumping , high rate of success in gambling on field, inspiring mentor, good finisher, hard hitter, leader by all means - who helped India to lift WC in all formats, fastest decision maker on field etc are some of the titles he earned in his career. We may get a better player in some of these aspects in future, may be some combination, but not all, for sure.
The journey of the boy, from the streets of Ranchi to the top of the world is indeed inspiring, so does the announcement of his retirement.
It is another - "Dhoni finishes off in style..." moment, perhaps the last one in international cricket.
Thank you MSD for all your contributions and cherishing memories. Wishing you all success for your upcoming endeavours.
